Customising the site
By Product Range/Brand: The information that is displayed in the menus can be customised according to your preferred product range. Merck Chemicals Ltd. comprises the brands Calbiochem (incorporating Oncogene Research Products), Novabiochem and Novagen. By selecting Narrow Product Range or Broaden Product Range from the Products menu it is possible to display only the information relating to your preferred brands.
Local Pricing: The country you select determines the currency displayed by the site. You do not need to log in to see prices however if the price of a product shows as N/A please select your country from the dropdown list. The screen will then automatically refresh to show the list price in the correct currency. If your account has local discounts in place please log in to view your special prices.

Finding Product Prices and Availability
Enter the catalogue number or product name into the search box on any page, make sure that the appropriate option is selected in the dropdown list, click search. If you searched by product name the search may return more than one link. Select the link for the product you require. Towards the bottom of the resulting product detail page is a table indicating the pack sizes that are available, whether or not the product is in stock and the price. Please contact customer service if the information you require is not displayed.

Finding Product Documentation
Product Data Sheets, User Protocols, Materials Safety Data Sheets and Certificates of Analysis are all available online. To find Product Data Sheets, User Protocols and Materials Safety Data Sheets enter the catalogue number for the product into the search box on any page, select the required option from the dropdown list and click search. Alternatively, each product detail page has these documents available for download. To find a Certificate of Analysis, enter the lot number (batch number) into the search box, select "Certificate of Analysis by Lot Number" from the dropdown list and click search. Please contact technical service if you are unable to locate the document you require.

Finding Products
Each page on the site contains a search box. To find a particular product enter the product name, catalogue number, CAS number, molecular formula or keywords into the search box and select the appropriate option from the dropdown list. - To find multiple products, several catalogue numbers can be entered together, separated by comma's
- To search for an exact phrase, enter "" around your search term
- * can be used as a wildcard in searches
- Only use letters and numbers when searching
- Greek characters can be entered as part of the search term, for example a can be entered as "a" or as "alpha"
- The product name search ignores all spaces and non-alphanumeric characters, incorrect or non-US spellings are not recognised (e.g. use sulfate as opposed to sulphate)
- Dashes should be included when searching by CAS number (not all products have CAS numbers)
- When searching by Molecular Formula treat subscripts as normal text. For example H2O2 would be entered H2O2
When many search results are generated, the results are displayed by product category. Click the relevant category to find all the products in that category matching the search criteria.

Ordering Online
All Calbiochem, Novabiochem and Novagen products can be purchased online, often for next day delivery. To order products online:
1. Create your web account - Click here or select Ordering>>Online Ordering>>Create an Account. Fill in all the required fields and click save at the end of each form. Once you have completed this process you will not need to re-enter these details when placing orders.
2. There are a number of ways in which products can be added to your shopping cart for purchase:
i) Quick Order - Select the  icon on the search toolbar, type one or more catalogue numbers into the boxes provided and click submit. The page will change to display the quantities, prices and stock availability for the products you entered. Enter the number you require in the Qty box against the required item and click "Add to cart".
ii) From the product detail page - Enter the quantity required against the relevant pack size displayed in the price and availability box, click "Add to cart" button. The display will change to display a summary of the contents of your cart. When you have all the items you require in your shopping cart, click "Check Out".If you are not logged in, the system will prompt you for your login details.
iii) From My Product List - When you are logged in the notepad icon  displays on the search toolbar. Clicking this icon displays products in your product list. By checking the boxes you can then add products in the list to your shopping cart for purchasing. To add products to My Product List, select the "Add to My Products List" button located beneath the price and availability information on any product detail page (you need to be logged in to see this button).
3. Once you have added items to your shopping cart for purchase the display will change again to allow you to purchase (check out) or modify your order. To continue to purchase online, select "Check Out" (if you have not yet logged in the system will prompt you for your login details), enter your shipping and invoice details into the spaces provided and click "continue" when complete. Enter your payment details into the next page and click "Continue" when complete.
4. After submitting your order you will be sent a Order Confirmation email to let you know that we have received your order. If you do not receive this email please contact us for assistance.Your order will be processed immediately and items that are in stock will be shipped. We will contact you if any items on your order are likely to take more than 5 days to come into stock. Once the order is fulfilled and shipped a Shipment Confirmation email will be sent to you detailing both the order summary as well as your shipping charges, any applicable ice charges and/or sales tax. Once the items are despatched you will be sent an invoice. If you paid by credit card, the payment will be taken once the goods have been despatched, you will also be sent an invoice for your records.
