Merck manufactures Soybean Trypsin Inhibitor (STI), which is a viable, regulation-friendly alternative to using bovine serum for trypsin inhibition during cell passage. Three different qualities of soybean trypsin inhibitor, from crude extract to high purity material, are offered. STI production is a controlled process , with rooms and equipment that are dedicated to STI production to avoid cross-contamination.

A low endotoxin grade is available.
