5-Chloro-7-iodo-8-hydroxyquinoline

Solid. PROTECT FROM LIGHT. PACKAGED UNDER INERT GAS. A metal ion chelator that crosses the blood brain barrier and acts as a neurotoxic antibiotic. Reported to dissolve senile plaques and reduce amyloid’s ability to clump together, apparently by trapping the Cu2+ and Zn2+ that stud these deposits. Shown to increase distal dominant axonopathy in animal models. Purity: ≥95% by HPLC. RTECS VC5075000, CAS 130-26-7.
