HDAC2, Human, Recombinant Liquid. In 138 mM NaCl, 25 mM Tris-HCl, 10% glycerol, 0.05% Tween®-20 detergent, pH 8.0. AVOID FREEZE/THAW CYCLES. Full-length, recombinant, human histone deacetylase 2 (HDAC2) fused at the C-terminus to a His•Tag® and expressed in S. frugiperda insect cells using a baculovirus expression system. HDAC2 is a target for the treatment of cardiac hypertrophy and mutations in HDAC2 are associated with colorectal cancer. The active deacetylase is useful in the study of HDAC2 regulation and for inhibitor screening. Specific activity: ≥429 units/µg protein. One unit is defined as the amount of enyme required to deacetylate 1 pmol fluorescent peptide substrate per min at 30°C. Purity: ≥95% by SDS-PAGE. Ref.: Ashburner, B.P., et al. 2001. Mol.
